in boston says obama 303. jim asher, actually says 313 for obama. scott bierman says my wife is 42 and never voted until today. my daughter is 19 and she's a first timer as well. we have three votes for obama so we're going to make it 332 obama. romney 206. carlos in maryland says my life partner, paul and i have already voted for obama. 303-235 is his prediction. >> you know, there is no nate silver lining to this thing. will screen mitt romney at a campaign event in cleveland, then richmond, virginia before heading to boston where he's going to watch the results roll in tonight. while romney and ryan squeeze in a last few campaign events, the president is with the first lady and their daughters in hyde park and plans radio and t.v. interviews and then will play basketball. already this morning he's made one unscheduled stop at a field office in the area. he's going to make some calls or has made some calls to voters in wisconsin and thank his staff and volunteers. he then went on to congratulate governor mitt romney for running a "spirited" campaign. the president plans to watch the start of tonight's results with his family at home, then will move on to mccormick center to join up with supporters. politico reporting that chrysler has given the entire work force the day off. the news came via ralph jills who tweeted he's the vice president of the chrysler, saying that they wanted everyone to go out and vote. he's been tweeting a lot lately, because he's taking on donald trump spreading the romney lie that

the east coast have been opening up. washington, of course, baltimore, philadelphia, boston. the number of canceled flights yesterday, about 2,900. most of those new york flights. today, we got about 600. somewhere between 570 and 600 flights canceled today, that brings to about 21,000 now. the total number of flights canceled since just before sandy and through this storm. amtrak update for you now. amtrak says it will provide modified northeast regional service between boston and new haven today and between newark and points south starting today. i want to give you an update on the subway system, as well, here. there is some subway activity north of 34th street, but below 34th street, almost nothing. and that has been a real problem for folks in new york city. all of this having a big impact on travel. if you're driving into manhattan today, the mayor has ordered you cannot be in a car with fewer than three people. i've already received e-mails and tweets and texts from friends who are trying to drive into manhattan. they say it is a mess. yet again today over the george washington br

island, and for atlantic city, places like boston, generally speaking, we're starting out as rain, and maybe a rain/snow mix. and then we're looking at it changing over to all rain. well, the frontal system is making its way towards the eastern seaboard, computer models probably overdoing the snowfall just a little bit. i think if anything, a half inch or an inch. but we're not looking at big, sick amounts. however quite a different story back across texas into louisiana and arkansas, with a chance for some hail. strong winds. and possibility of some tornadoes going into the afternoon. this is going to be an afternoon event, and the rest is just slight across this region. in new york, those readings will be in the 40s today. but for new york city, on tuesday, only into the 30s. and then we see this slow upward tick as far as the temperatures go. so, john, it looks like it's going to be fairly messy for people who are going to try to still be recovering from superstorm sandy. >> starting when, karen, was that? >> this will be on tuesday. it will start tonight, and going into tuesda

from his hometown of chicago. meanwhile, governor romney will be monitoring results from boston. word just in on the associated press that he and his wife have just cast their ballots in belmont, mass. some economic news on this election day. real estate data provider breeding this morning that a measure of u.s. prices rose 5% in september compared to one year ago. it is the largest year-over-year increase recorded since july to thousand six. they also said prices declined 0.3% in september from august, the first drop after six straight increases but it indicates the end of the summer buying. freddie mac posted an increase for the july-september quarter and requested no additional federal aid. it was their second straight profitable quarter. compared to a loss of $6 billion for the same quarter of 2011. big to be the gain to an increase in home prices and a decline in mortgage delinquencies. both are signs of a modest housing recovery. those are some of the latest headlines on c-span radio.
